Memberships

Friends of Ted

The Friends of Ted provide crucial funds to support Theodore Payne Foundation by committing to an annual gift of $5,000 or more. This philanthropic group gets together three times a year to get updates on TPF’s work and major projects, tour beautiful gardens, and hear from experts in the field on topics like biodiversity, local-sourcing, and community engagement.  

 

Donate a Car

Donate your car, truck, or RV to TPF! Our trusted service provider (careasy.org) makes sure your vehicle is easily and properly handled, and that you get your tax deduction.

Stocks and Securities

Gifts of stocks, bonds, and other securities can be one of the most advantageous ways of contributing. Benefits of giving this way include bypassing capital gains taxes, claiming the full value of the gift as a charitable deduction, and making a larger gift than if you first sold the securities and then donated the proceeds. Donor-Advised Funds

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are one of the most tax efficient and organized way to give. A DAF is an investment account used for charitable giving. It allows individuals to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction and then make grants to nonprofits over time. Donating here via DAFpay will help us track your gift.

IRA Contributions

If you are over 70 years of age, you may be able to able to avoid taxes if you’re drawing from a traditional IRA by donating to Theodore Payne Foundation. Ask your tax professional for advice.

Many companies will match cash donations, and some match volunteer hours (aka “Dollars for Doers”). Ask your HR department if there’s a matching gift program at your company. Search this page for a list of companies and their donation matching policies.
