Captive desert tortoises need lifelong care and special attention, housing and food. This outdoor presentation reveals how to keep your tortoise healthy and happy. Native and non-native forage sources are covered, as well as the importance of water and mimicking natural conditions and seasonal rhythms.

This class will be held outdoors with live tortoises! We will meet in-person under the pergola at TPF.

Katherine Pakradouni is a lifelong desert tortoise caretake, native plant horticulturist, and educator who has been growing and maintaining native plants for years through her work with Grown in LA and Theodore Payne Foundation, and the Los Angeles Parks Foundation. Instagram: @wildergardens
