California is home to over 100 species of manzanita (Arctostaphylos sp.) and well over a hundred more cultivars available to the home gardener. Right now is the best time to appreciate them! Manzanitas not only anchor gardens with their evergreen foliage and stunning bark textures and color, they also provide bountiful flowers throughout the winter. TPF has curated an assortment of manzanitas on site that represents the state’s abundance of this revered native garden staple. We welcome you to take part in a guided walk and talk with our Director of Horticulture, Tim Becker, as he discusses their diversity, ecology, and garden uses.

Tim Becker is TPF’s Director of Horticulture and a seasoned landscaper.
