The 2020 Theodore Payne Native Plant Garden Tour is moving online! Join us for a journey through the Los Angeles region’s most beautiful and inspiring home landscapes.
On March 28th and 29th, we’ll be hosting a live stream from gardens around the city. You’ll learn about native plants, garden design, and wildlife habitat. We will be sharing more details soon, visit nativeplantgardentour.org for updates and preview videos!
As a chance to share community in this isolated time, the virtual garden tour will be open to all.
We are leaving the option to buy tickets on the tour’s Eventbrite page and are deeply grateful for those who can help support this community effort. If you have already purchased tickets and would like a refund due to changes in the tour, please contact us through Eventbrite or send an e-mail to info@theodorepayne.org to request your refund. Because we are experiencing an unusually high call volume, we ask that refund requests be made only online or by e-mail . We are extremely appreciative for those who can support the Foundation by purchasing tickets or forgoing a refund for tickets already purchased.
We will be sharing more details at nativeplantgardentour.org in the coming days.
– Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers & Native Plants
What if folks trade in their tour stickers for a few plants instead of a refund that hits the foundation harder. Gets then out to the nursery and gets more plants in the ground?
I’m a member & just realized yesterday that I haven’t changed my email address with you! This is coming from my new email address: zobe1008@gmail.com
My former email address was:
jzobel@henson.com Please delete that one.
I have 3 tickets to the tour. 2 were for my family who were going to travel from Oregon to be here to see it for the 1st time. Can they go online and experience the virtual “tour”? I’m happy to keep my tickets as I’m sure the funds have been or will be used well. Thank you! Julie Zobel
I’m pleasd to hear that the annual garden tour will be available virtually. I live in Northern California and have never had the opportunity to attend one of your annual tours.
I suggest in your next post about the tour that you have a link to the ticket purchase site.
Also, thank you for doing your part to reduce COVID-19 exposure.
Thank you Theodore Payne Foundation. This sounds lovely.
Not everyone has access to live streaming but we are interested in seeing what is happening. Our club contributed to sponsoring this event. Any other way to share since we won’t be able to use the complementary tickets?

As a TPF member of pretty long standing, I’ve done the garden tour several times. I’m looking forward to the virtual tour. Imagine, no driving, less stress, and best of all, no carbon.
Thanks for adapting the tour in this manner. I’m glad to still pay for those two days of inspiration.
Excellent smaller carbon footprint as well any idea what video stream platform will be used ?
We will be using Zoom. Stay tuned for details, we’ll be updating everyone very soon.
This is a good idea. And I have a question about the post tour party at Susan Gottlieb’s. I assume it will be off, but will it be postponed ?
Yes, we hope to reschedule this when we it is safe to do so.
I missed the two virtual tours. Are they posted on line?
Thanks, and stay safe (and sane).
Was the virtual tour recorded, for viewing at our convenience? I hope so.
Yes they are.

Is the 2020 native garden tour available for viewing?
Your photos are beautiful. I live in a home I Bakersfield, and the backyard has a slope that has plants from bird droppings . We need a durable ground cover for the slope , that will not dry up from the hot summer sun . Any suggestions of names of durable ground cover would be greatly appreciated .
